Remembering Shakia

Educator | Researcher | Data Engineer
Shakia was a Ph.D student in Education Policy, Teaching and Leadership at the University of Maryland, College Park. She worked as a researcher and data engineer at Campaign Zero.

Shakia was a loving sister and a dependable friend. Her mom was her best friend—she loved her dearly.
She was a spirited communicator, meticulous and a highly analytical individual. Shakia was full of light, love and made an impact in the lives of people she connected with. She selflessly dedicated her energy to issues of Queer Liberation struggles, Black Feminism and Neurodiversity Awareness

We honor her memory by leading with kindness, stepping into each day with love in our hearts and working on being the best possible version of ourselves.
